V.O. Chidambaranar Port Sets New Coal Handling Record
Tuticorin, August 2, 2024 – V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port Authority has achieved a significant operational milestone by handling an impressive 17,785 tonnes of coal in a single day at North Cargo Berth-2. This achievement, realized on August 2, 2024, marks a new single-day handling record at the port, surpassing the previous high of 17,385 tonnes recorded just days earlier on July 23, 2024. Efficient Operations at North Cargo Berth-2 The record-breaking operation was executed using a Harbour Mobile Crane to discharge coal from the vessel MV Indian Goodwill, showcasing the port’s enhanced cargo handling capabilities. The successful unloading and logistics coordination reflect the port’s commitment to efficient cargo movement and infrastructure optimization.
